About Roughwood Glassworks

Roughwood Glassworks is nestled deep in the Chilterns AONB, in what used to be the Roughwood Estate, first mentioned in 1296.

Although Roughwood Glassworks was only first mentioned in 2020, I actually first started working with glass over 30 years ago, when I landed a job in a glass shop after leaving art college.

As well as general glass cutting and glazing duties, I was responsible for designing and making leaded light and stained glass panels for doors and fan lights - a hugely enjoyable part of the job. I've had a varied creative career since then, working as a photographer, digital designer and creative director, but the desire to push the 'anologue' side of my creativity (perhaps a result of 25 years spending most of my time staring at a screen!) and create physical things led me full circle back to the tactile and versatile world of glass...

I specialise in leaded light and stained glass panels and artworks - for architecture or garden, but also create fused glass objects and decorative pieces using the copper foiling technique.
